'' Advantages and disadvantages of keeping animals in zoos''

The problem of keeping animals in zoos has been debated since zoos appeared.

One point of view in favour of keeping animals in zoos is that, it helps to preserve endangered species. Many animals which are under threat can be saved only thanks to zoos around the world. Another advantage is that zoos serve an important function for their visitors because we have a great opportunity to observe animals live.

On the other hand some zoos have terrible conditions for instance: the lack of space in cages in which animals are kept. Most people, particularly the ecologists think that the animals should be kept in their natural habitat.

All in all, I think that it is not a good idea to close down zoos. The owners should ensure better conditions for animals which should be very similar to their natural habit.
